Who Are You? I am Astarte Rising, Dakini, high priestess, tantrist, witch, catalyst, singer/song writer

I am 49 years alive and music is my passion and educating on all things on spirituality and sexuality. Sharing with people that life is a magical adventure.

What is a modern day goddess?

A woman of today who recognizes her spiritual divinity and her connection to ancient archetypal history.

How did you come to this work/lifestyle?

Through diligently seeking the truth and nature of myself and what my purpose in this world is. There are truths that I desired to know definitively, implicitly about who, what and why I am and the local spiritual and educational institutions seemed to have the same unanswered questions. So, I took the journey myself and the education never ends. It began really with knowing that I was a witch at 11years old. Much later in life I arrived at the gateway to understand this inner knowing about my powers and who I am as a spiritual being.

What is sacred sex?

Sacred sex is the understanding that sexual union is prayer and worship and that every act is a sacrament. An outward and visual sign of inner spirituality and knowledge that the body is a temple.

How do you guide women to tap into their pleasure?

I like to first get them to the realization that they are divine infinite beings. That they are power personified. There is a kind of eroticism in the understanding that women are microcosmic representations of the macrocosmic universe and that their very bodies are patterned after the sacred geometry and flow of nature and the universe. I approach this through the sharing of our ancient herstory and the decoding of the symbolism inherent in all modern religions that lead back to a matriarchally centered past of spirituality and magic, and through the etymology of language which has hidden within it our true names and nature.

How has your life changed in the last 10 years?

I die daily almost lol. There is a constant shifting and changing that goes on inside of me as I seek to live more of my authentic self. I’ve changed from believing that someone else is responsible for this human experience to realizing that it is all up to me. From acquiescing my dreams for others to endeavoring to pursue them consistently. From being in partnership to a solitary journey to learn anew who I am as an individual. All beliefs are paradigms to be transcended into truths that are infallible. I look to constantly expand my consciousness through the tutelage of nature and the mirror reflection of myself found in those all around me. I went from being a more quiet, guarded yet opinionated girl into being a matriarch of self-actualization and empowerment in the span of 8 years. The journey continues.

What has changed/shifted since you’ve entered midlife?

I am definitely more outspoken and I don’t like to mince words. I need to speak from a place of truth and not worry about being “nice” all the time which is etymologically defined as being ignorant or stupid, or act as if you don’t feel or think differently from what you are portraying in social settings. I realize that my words, my truth can alter lives and the perceptions of others. This is a power that I am much more aware of now. To speak the truth forthrightly for me puts an end to wasted time. I like to meet life and people frontally more now than ever before. My perception of time at this age challenges me by forcing me to see that life is finite and one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is as one day. If you blink too long your life could pass you by and dreams and passions can go unfulfilled. I feel that life is just beginning again and I am a virgin all over again. I am more fearless, although fear is still a challenge I know better now how to stare fear in the face and walk the path anyway. It’s the only way to get to where I feel I need to go, to accomplish all that I dream of doing and being. The dark road has always been my first choice even before I knew better. The hidden and obscured roads that others fear to tread. What’s changed is that I now pursue the dark road in the full knowledge that I know not where it will lead but that it is sure to take me to new frontiers of more deeply knowing the mystery that is me.

What rituals/self care practices do you have?

I am a practitioner of yoga or dance, breath work, meditation and mantra. This body has to be moved and stretched or it falters. Dance is orgasmic to me and so I like to get in the mirror and share that art with myself. Dance is my yoga but I have also just begun a new yogic practice of the Five Tibetan Rites. The breath is the life and so prana is essential to replenishing our energy body and meditation and mantra are about training the mind and consciousness. I have been something of a vegetarian for about 13 years now with some sea food occasionally but diet is important to me. I believe in balance and doing what suits the individual body. We are all different.

As a solo sexual artist ☺ I practice sex magic with myself which is about manifesting my reality and learning to feel love for me at the touch of my own hands. Not to simply satisfy a base need but to send out love and light into the world, for my own healing intentions, my family and rebirthing a new me as often as necessary. I also have a yoni egg practice that I am utilizing. It is through this practice that women strengthen and tap into their inner chi and builds vitality and youth. I like mirror magic which is infusing my reflection with what I ideally want to see. To not just look at my reflection but to see through the windows of my eyes the true essence of myself. So, each day if only for a moment I speak beauty and power to myself as a reminder of who I am.

What would you like to incorporate?

It would be great if I could get out and walk a mile or two each day. I know that walking is essential and has so many great benefits. It is going to be a goal for this summer.

What would your perfect day look like?

My perfect day is:

4:00am yoga/meditation, magic

6:00am Video journal

7:00am Breakfast

8:00am Belly dance

9:30am Music practice

The rest of the day is for play!

What would you like women to know?

That they are the key to everything they are wanting in life. If it is a partner, they can attract a partner, however from a place of self-love and inner power and not from low self-esteem or some misguided Cinderella fantasy. If it is more money they can attract more financial abundance by speaking it into existence and by vibrating wealth. If they are seeking more sexual pleasure it can begin by self-mastery of their own bodies which would then enable them to teach the men how to worship and approach the feminine body. If they want babies and are being told they can’t, they can have babies in the most miraculous of circumstances! I want them to know that they need not be empowered but are the very essence of power as my teacher taught me. It is all at their fingertips, just waiting for them to get out of their own way. I want them to know that they are the juiciest pieces of fruit on this planet, that they are wise, empathic, psychic and insightful, that they are the original Gods of this world and that there are men even awaiting their reawakening. I want them to know their beauty and that they are a blessing. I want them to love themselves above all else so that the world will look upon them in wonder at the inestimable power and epic fortune of their lives. I want them to be free.

Astarte’s philosophy: “it doesn't cost anything to want it all....and so I do....and you should too”.
